"Queridos sudafricanos, nuestro amado Nelson Rohlihla Mandela, padre fundador de nuestra nación democrática, ha fallecido. Se fue en paz y acompañado de su familia sobre las 20:50 del 5 de diciembre de 2013. Ahora está descansando, ahora está en paz. Nuestro país ha perdido a su mejor hijo. Nuestros ciudadanos han perdido a su padre. Aunque sabíamos que este día llegaría, nada puede mitigar la profunda y duradera pérdida".

His tireless struggle for freedom earned him the respect of the world".
